Heute vor 111 Jahren wurde Rosa Parks in Alabama geboren. 

 
Die Ikone der US-amerikanischen Bürgerrechtsbewegung wurde 1955 bekannt, als sie in der Stadt Montgomery in Alabama festgenommen wurde, weil sie sich weigerte, ihren Sitzplatz im Bus für einen weißen Fahrgast zu räumen.
Damit löste Rosa Parks den Busboykott von Montgomery aus, der zusammen mit Protesten im Fall Emmett Till als Beginn der schwarzen Bürgerrechtsbewegung gilt.
